Sinopse
Intellectual pretensions and romantic obsessions dissipate like vapor in this cynical look at Russian exiles in a German spa town. Turgenev skewers the empty rhetoric of the elite with sharp, observational wit and a weary sense of irony. Amidst the social games, a man is haunted by a past passion that threatens his very future. It is a sophisticated exploration of the illusory nature of social and personal progress.
