Sinopse
A deeply philosophical young man rebels against the rigid, dogmatic religious upbringing of his grandfather, embarking on a painful and lonely quest for spiritual truth. Cast out from his community and stripped of his inheritance, he navigates the tumultuous intellectual currents of the late 19th century, confronting doubt, secularism, and the harsh realities of the world. His intellectual journey is mirrored by a poignant romantic struggle, as his search for meaning alienates the very people he holds most dear. This thought-provoking narrative tackles the profound conflict between blind faith and the relentless pursuit of reason. It is an enduring exploration of the courageous, often isolating path toward genuine self-discovery.
